I wouldn't use SB on a monk. Basically with the damage enemies deal in HM PS not only is more efficient but it lasts longer. Even if they are on par or SB reduces/heal a bit more, 10 hits in HM last a couple of seconds and a large part of stuff going in HM can be considering a damn spike that has to be stopped.

2 PS will win in that situation.

I would certainly bring it in bars with plenty of energy like in a N/Mo or an ER ele.

At least 2 copies of Prot Spirit before even thinking about Spirit Bond. Spirit Bond is far less of a true prot and more of a red bar filler on bonded/protted targets (as in 600).

Plus, you're either playing a Prot Monk + Heal Monk team or Hybrid + Hybrid, and in either case, a blast from Word of Healing or a Healer's Boon buffed heal will be far more effective. Also consider that even from full health, PS is slowing the rate that a target will drop, making the job far easier. SB may or may not (a) trigger or (b) be effectively protective.

(emphasis added)

This is incorrect. Spirit Bond heals for a max of 80*10 = 800 health @10 prot, which gives you an efficiency of 80 health/nrg, or 83.2 hp/nrg with divine favor bonus @10. The maximum efficiency of WoH @14 heal is 94+109 = 203, or 40.6 hp/nrg; 47 hp/nrg @10 df. Spirit Bond has an excellent chance of achieving its maximum efficiency in HM, where the majority of damage will meet the condition. It also prevents more damage per hit than PS for packets between 60 and 140 damage, which actually makes it a better spike mitigation tool against many non-boss monsters.

tl;dr: Spirit Bond has nearly twice the maximum efficiency of WoH, and will tend to achieve this efficiency in HM. One copy of PS is sufficient (and even optimal).

You have to take PS along anyway, because someone with DP will get lolinstakilled in HM multiple times without PS..........

But with Aegis and PS @9 prot on a WoH-Monk, I'd take SB on my prot-bar most of the time.
